1970 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. Red paint on Black interior. Big Block, preferably the torque monster 454 with a 4 speed. It's the car I would own if I hadn't found the current GTO.

There are many Chevy's I like. Van's, Camaro's, Corvette's, Chevelle's, etc. But the Panel Trucks are a favorite. This one is a 1948 GMC Panel Truck I saw at the Carlisle GM Nationals that had a Corvette LS3 engine in it. Here are some pics of it.

I have to say that I always loved Chevys. My father had a 1956 Chevy Station Wagon that I thought I would inherit, wrong! My first car was a 1965 Chevy Bel Air that I paid $50.00 for. It needed work but $150.00 later it was on the road. I then bought my 1970 Chevelle SS 396/375 hp while I was in the Air Force. That car I loved. I put big tires on it and air shocks to "jack" it up. My dad and I also installed headers on it. I wish I still had it. I had to sell it because my family was growing and the price of gas went up to $0.75. After seeing what they sold for at Mecum Auctions last weekend, I really wished I still owned it. There are so many Chevys that I love and probably always will but that 1970 SS was my best for a while.

I've been watching my friend restore a '53 Chevy Bel Air and the way he's doing it, slightly custom but mostly stock, has got me partial to this Chevy model. You see a bunch of '55's - '57's but not very many '53's. Can't wait to see the finished product!!!

My favorite Chevy is the 1958 Impala. I bought a white '58 Impala (348 tri-power) new in 1958, and still have pictures of that great car. Cost new with 3 speed manual: $3600.00. Cost now: $$$$$$$$$$

I love the classics and muscle cars, but I gotta go with the '57 Corvette.
