Default 11-09-2013 River City Flooring in Mountain Home, AR

The folks at River City Flooring here in Mountain Home, AR decided about a week ago that it was time to celebrate their being in business here in town for 2 years. So they sent out an invite to the club Karen and I are in, the Classic Chevy Club of North Arkansas, along with invites to the Natural State Rod & Customs Car Club, and the Road Riders For Jesus motorcycle club asking us to if we could all bring some rides out for display. They know our groups so well, they told us in their invites that they would be cooking up free food on the grill, so we all agreed to show up, lol. One of the local radio stations sent their remote broadcast unit out as well, for their 3rd 2 hour stop of the day, so they were pretty busy as well.

It was a little cool and cloudy in the morning, then the sun came out around noon, and about 1:30 it went back behind the clouds again, but it was still a good time.

Got an album with more pictures posted in My Garage, and a video at :

I hear that on the snowmobiles, fortunately here in Northern Arkansas we usually don't get that much snow or ice (not counting our fun storm in mid-winter 2009-2010 where we got 9" of ice and almost a foot of snow, lol).

It was a lot of fun, and not only did members of each club show up (the bike group was a little small, because they also had members showing up at 2 other events on Saturday, including a toy run) but there were also about 4 people who aren't in any clubs who were out with their classics who were just stopping to look and we motioned them to just pull in with us instead of the area for the store customers, lol.

Saw one of those folks again this morning, I hadn't gotten to talk to them yesterday, turns out the folks with the car below are actually the Arkansas state reps for one of the street rod groups (I forget which one since I didn't write it down, lol), and put just 32,000 miles on their rod and '42 Chevy this year between April and September driving them all across the country to different events. Must be nice to be retired and have the time to do that, not to mention having had jobs that provided you with the money to do that in retirement, lol.

Oh definitely! And our club loves to eat. Some of the folks who were there stopped at the Elk's Club and had a free pre-Veteran's Day breakfast, then hit the local Chevy/Caddy dealer's grand re-opening and had cookies, then hit our spot, and about 4 of them went to the dealership after leaving our event at 2:00 and roamed around looking at new cars/building and had a burger (I know how many did that because I did too, and Karen wondered why I didn't want dinner last night, lol).
