Default Friday 09/06 and Saturday 09/07

Hit up 2 events this weekend.

On Friday night, I hit the cruise-in sponsored by Hardee's of Mountain Home, AR and The Natural State Rod and Customs Car Club. Since there are about 15 couples who are members of that club, and the one I belong to, The Classic Chevy Club of North Arkansas, we always hit up each other's cruises, regardless of which club the place actually sponsors, lol.

On Saturday, I headed over to Flippin, AR for their 3rd Annual Car Craze Show n' Shine event held in Hickey Park. After getting home and unloading the car from that, loaded up some different items and headed over to Bomber Stadium here in Mountain Home and watched the last half of a football game so could watch our "adopted" nephew play his game, then had to sit through another game while waiting for our great-nephew to get to take the field and play his game.

Pics and some links to videos from both the car events will be posted, probably sometime tomorrow or Monday, after being out in the 95+ degree heat from 7:30 AM till almost 7:00 PM, I am worn out, lol.

Also, on September 21, there will be this year's Bridge Bash for Hunger event with a car show and more to help with bringing funds in to help some of the local food banks be able to provide meals to the needy during the upcoming holiday season. This years goal is to be able to provide 375,000 individual meals from the cash and food donations, the 5K run, etc., last year they were able to provide 325,000 after the event.

George is a really good guy, he and Earleen are in the Classic Chevy Club, but haven't been real active since back in January when they found that along with the cancer she has been fighting for over a year, she also has a couple of tumors in her brain. They were able to remove one, but then had to stop and get her stabilized again and haven't been able to get her healthy enough to go in and get the other one yet. Is really a shame for them. He ended up having to retire a few years early so that he can take care of her. She showed up with him Friday night but they left fairly early, the heat was getting her worn out. His plan Saturday was to stop in West Plains on the way to Cabool and drop her off with their daughter for the day while he went to the Cabool show so she wouldn't be left alone or stuck out in the heat all day.
