    Default Howdy from North Texas!

Howdy folks! I'm new here, and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Dare1, and this is my 1965 Mustang, known as Scarlet. I have had her since I was 14, and am almost done restoring her. (Well, they're never done, but close enough.) She was purchased brand new in 1965 by my Great-Aunt and Great-Uncle in Torrance, California. My Great-Aunt passed away, and the car came to me, here in North Texas. Since then, my Stepfather and I pulled the tired 289 out, built a brand new 302, and installed it ourselves. I had the transmission freshened up and had a better shift kit installed as well. In addition, Scarlet has a new gas tank, new radio and speakers, including kick panel speakers, front disc breaks, American Racing rims, and a Flowmaster exhaust. As of the current moment in time, I'm saving up for the complete interior kit from Mustangs Plus, and after that, we plan on getting the paint done. Thanks for having me here; I'm excited to be here.

Oh, and here is a video I took a couple years ago not long after the engine had been installed:

Always been a fan of the Mustangs. I was told recently that Lee Iacocca was responsible for bringing it to the car-buying public.

    Welcome.

Thanks folks! Glad to be here. And that's correct. Lee Iaccoca was a huge player in the Mustang, for sure. We probably wouldn't have them today if it weren't for him. So thanks, Lee!
