    Default Have you ever had to give up your boat out of love for it?

    Sadly it's gone.....had to sell my boat, well not really had to but did it to save it from sitting there, it was a 1985 17' Critchfield center console with a 110 Evenrude, I rebuilt the boat two years ago totally, went through everything, I had tournament fished from this boat many times and won money, the last time I won $500.00 for a Sheepshead a little over 7 lbs., other wins wer like $700.00 on my first tournament and $1500.00 in a following tourney, other prizes were VHF radios and antennaes and coolers, rod and reel combo's and so on, also was pictured in Sport Fishing Magazine in 2002 holding a $500.00 check and a Budweiser from my sponsors, I'm really going to miss my boat, I sold it because I couldn't use it anymore, no time for it because of work, I had only used it twice in the last two years so I just didn't want to see it sit there, the guy that bought it got a great deal...2 grand for the entire rig, it has been said the two happiest days in a boat owners life are the day they buy the boat....and the day they sell it, not true in my case!

    Cool

    Sorry you had to sell her.

    I know it hurts, I still miss the cars that I sold.

    Hey is your 1st name Chris??? The only other MoneyMaker I have heard of is from the Poker World...

    Your sick of hearing that, right. I'm just saying your last name isn't a common name... ;

    I know the feeling all to well. Fished long and hard for 25 years and when our business was sold to a big corporation which liked to down size I was retired for 2 years without pay. It only seemed fitting to retire boating and fishing as well. Definitely miss that life style but it seems like a whole life time ago. She was a 1997 Stratos 282DC and like any true car guy had to be made better faster stronger. A few pics

    Wow just saw your pics and they brought back some memories, I pulled my boat with my Tahoe, it was blue also, I still have the Tahoe, 1995 with 300,000 + miles and still running, smokes a bit but still runs great (kinda like me) my wife is pushing me to sell it as I don't drive it anymore, I just can't bring myself to let it go.

    Mine is a 1995 also just turned 200,000. Towed with it many years trouble free. Replacing a few things lately, like a fuel pump but she has served me well. Hope to get another 100,000 on her
