    Default My Model Car Collection

I took a verticle cd rack and pulled all the plastic velvety cd holder slots out and painted it dark inside.
I printed Mels Drive-in from the movie, a 1950s car lot, gas station and billboard as well as American Graffiti for the center.
I have diecasts of the '56 T-Bird (with the waitress figure), '32 Duece Coupe (with Milner), '55 Chevy (with Falfa), and as well, the Route 66 '62 Corvette (with Tod and Buz). The '58 Impala is an old AMT model kit.I have Terry the Toads Vespa too.
I had to buy the 1/64 scale '58, '32, and '55 to get the 1/25 scale figures of Terry the Toad, Debbie, and Wolfman Jack.
I also put Jungle Jim (funny car driver) and Jungle Pam from the funny car kit.
I want to get some light rope to brighten it up, and plexiglass to keep it dust free.

I collect 1/24 & 1/25 scale model cars, die casts, and Hot Wheels.
I also have a lot of dealer brochures.
Here are a few pics of some of my stuff.

Here are a few more I've been doing lately.
The grey, green, and black hot rods were built from parts box parts.

I'm still looking for a few pieces, such as a grille for the green truck, and a pair of zoomies for the grey one (typically, I can only find one zoomie...).
I made the flatbed out of balsa wood about 30 years ago.
The '57 'Vette is a flip front MPC kit, the Goodwrench C5-R Corvette is a Revell prepainted kit (still have all the decals to apply), and the '57 300 C is an AMT prepainted kit.

    Default Wow

Awesome collection! How long does it take you to put one together? You have more unbuilt kits than some of the sellers at car shows have for sale!!! That's awesome -

I personally love to build them with my daughter and we work pretty slow. Easy ones take us several hours and the more difficult ones take us a couple days

    Thanks!
The time it takes to build one varies with each model.I've got some that have taken months, some get part way done then put away for years.I have to be in the mood to build, plus I have Parkinsons so sometimes I just can't build.
I have a '53 Studebaker that was started about 12-13 years ago.I plan on getting back to it in the next day or so.

    Ya keep them wrapped up...

It's amazing the price difference in a original wrapped item will get over an opened box...

That's only if you go to sell them at some point though...

I love the contest on GEARZ with Stacy David, they are having all kinds of classes and folks are winning some nice prizes...

    Default Syracuse Nationals

Speaking of model car contests, I really enjoy walking over to the model car contest when we go to the Syracuse Nationals. Here are a few pictures I've taken there
