Cool New to forum (and cars)

Hey all, new here. Been a car fan for a long time but have had trouble getting one until I finally got a loan. This is my 1970 Torino Cobra Jet. It is a definite W.I.P. but has a solid drivetrain and interior. Need to get some accessories on it, but otherwise it is great.

It was an early 90's restoration, explaining the mustang seats.

If background info is your thing I am a 20 y/o (21 on 12-21) and am a pre-medical student. I'm in SoCal and regularly attend the Costa Mesa First Fridays show, and Donut Derelict if anyone is there (however I haven't recently due to finals being in the next week).

Can't wait to see what I can learn.

Edit: I had forgotten to mention that some of the things it used to have no longer exist. For instance, it started with a C-6 Trans which is now a 3 speed B&M Slam Shifter. It has knock alert as well as timing control knobs under the dash. It had power steering from the factory but is now manual only (LOL). The exhaust is modified (idk what). It has the weld racing wheels. I can't even begin to list the engine's upgrades because I don't even know all of them. The cam is a monster, I almost have no vacuum leftover for the brakes. Some other stuff, too much.

    Welcome to the site.

    I like the mustang seats.

Welcome to the site! It's great to see younger people taking an interest in classic cars and hot rods! So how'd you get interested in working on cars in the first place?

Long story made short, my great-grandfather is CJ "Pappy" Hart. My dad's 88 Mustang GT solidified that I wanted a car and I was able to find this one for cheap a couple months ago. I haven't tried to work on anything except the drivetrain to get it up to driving condition. If anyone can get me a kickdown rod for an Edelbrock 1411 carb I would be much obliged All I need to do now is get some octane booster so the car will not knock.

Could be.... I actually just picked some up 10 minutes ago. Letting the car cool down before I put it in.

Sorry to revive this thread... Didn't seem right to start something new for this. I went back home for my Spring break and attended Donut Derelict, for those who know what it is. For anyone else, it's a get together from 5AM-8AM in a parking lot with a donut shop on the corner. It hosts between 100-200 cars on any given Saturday morning.

Anyway, I went and met with two guys who also have Torinos. Had to find each other on Torinocobra.com lol. One of them identified my headers as Super Cobra Jet. So I was and am stoked.
