    Default GDRA Race #2 Saturday, June 2nd, 2012 --- 6.90, 7.80, 8.60, and 9.50 classes!!!

GDRA Race #2 Presented by Device Tech Inc.

Race #2 presented by Device Tech Inc is almost upon us. Saturday, June 2nd at Byron Dragway in Byron, IL (near Rockford, IL) the GDRA will be featuring four classes of racing. 6.90, 7.80, 8.60, and for the first time in 2012 the 9.50 class will be joining in on the fun. The class has had a ton of interest and should have plenty of cars providing some great on track action. The 9.50 class provides a wide range of cars from tube chassis cars to back-halved cars to small tired stock suspensions stand on the tail lights nitrous breathing powerhouses. Anything goes so drivetrain, chassis, and power adders vary which really makes this class something really wild to watch. Sure to put on one heck of a show and not disappoint any fan that is ready for heads up drag racing.

The other 3 classes already have one race under their belt this season and from the looks of it, this race should prove to be one heck of a tough challenge for all the drivers and crews. The 6.90 class could see a pretty decent sized filed lead by Joe Palmer with his AES Racing Engines powered Pontiac GTO. Joe was certainly raising some eyebrows clicking off times in the high 6's at the first event and grabbed the winner spot in that class. The 7.80 class which grew miles last season is also going to be ready with names like Gordy Frank and Rich Wilhelm who will be in the house along with the possible return of Kevin "The Angry Beaver" Deaton to the class and speculation that CJ Williams and his Racing Experience might even be out with his super clean AES Racing Engines powered 93 Cobra trying to find his way into that 7.80 group. The 8.60 class is filling up fast with all the racers from race 1 buying into this race before even leaving the track. No dobut that the GDRA's flagship class will have even more cars this race. Can anyone stop Ken Kendall and his dominance with the GDRA? GDRA 8.60 racer Shannon Logan who is looking to make his return to the class had this to say in regards to the Kendall dominance, "I may put up a bounty for any one who can beat him at the next race. I'm pretty sure I would be keeping my money." Steve Roden of Legend Racing Enterprises also thinks he has a shot and commented in regards to Logan's offering, "Don't be so sure, I was realllllll close on my 1st attempt."

However you stack the chips, the fans are in store for one amazing day at the races.
