Pulled the dash, as I couldn't see the gauges even with the lights on. Back in the cars racing days, they pulled the dash pad N cut/ yanked all wiring. (weight savings?) They then spray painted what was left on the dash. The inside of the gauges were covered in black overspray, dirt and bugs with all the open holes from the missing bulbs ect. Cleaned/Restored all gauges, reglued the wood veneer and hand painted all silver trim around gauges and switches. Fixed the JUNK AM radio so it could be installed properly and add my new radio knobs to match the rest of dash. Fired it up and rubbed some more nubbs off the tires and a quick brake system check Then ME Momma N the dawg when for a lil cruise. The fan schroud made a huge difference keeping the overheat probs down and it stayed around 190. But it was a very cool evening too.
