    Default Charity poker run

A few friends and I drove over Mingus Mt to Cottonwood, Az for a poker run. 100% of the funds raised today will go to provide a Thanksgiving dinner to the needy.

Christy (my wife), Lexi (my daughter) and I took the fat rat. Jerry took his Chevelle. Sharon took her Chevelle. Bones took his Ford Roadster. Al took his Ford Falcon 2 door wagon.

Sharon won a video camera. Bones won a set of ratchet wrenches. Al won a screw driver set. Jerry won a hat.I won a BBQ utensil set in a hard case.

Each check point we picked out a playing card and 5 bingo numbers. Sharon got 1st place in Bingo. Bones got 2nd place in the poker, Al got 3rd place in Bingo.

Oh it was an awesome day. Arizona has such a variety of scenery. From where I live 5 minite drive and you are in deep pines with twisty mountain roads. 45 minutes and you are in the red rocks of Sedona. 30 more minutes and you can ski or snowboard in Flagstaff. Two winters ago Flagstaff got more snow than Ancorage Alaska.

An hour south of me and you can go play in the desert. Mtv has been to Lake Havasu for Spring Break several times.

Lakes, rivers, sand dunes, desert, mountains and a couple of ski resorts all with in a few hours drive.

Hopefully I'll be at Barrett Jackson this year. I'm 90 miles away. I'm trying to help a friend auction off her 1970 AAR Cuda, 1967 Corvette Stingray conv and her 1929 Model A.

I got the vacation time approved from work. Now to see if the lady with the 3 classics still wants me there to help sell them for her.
