What do you guys think about manual (or automatic, for that matter) cars with more than 6 speeds?

I prefer a 350 Transmission, much stouter and no shift keys to break. The 700's are weak and you don't need the geaars.....ohh wait you said cars....Never mind

lol. I was referring more to the way auto manufacturers are heading, like Chrysler gearing it's plants up for 8 & 9 speed automatic transmissions. Like Porsche with a 7 speed manual etc.

As long as it's automatic - I really don't care either way... not sure I understand what the implications are in terms of performance with a 9-speed auto and a 6-speed tbh

I wish I had another gear on my Chevy. The TCI 350 is nice around town but screams the RPM's at freeway speed. My import tuner has a 5 speed and another gear for the highway would be nice. I like to drive and go places so extra gears to lower the RPM on a long road trip would be nice.

Have a 200R4 with OD that was gonna help me out with some gas savings for the GTO, but 1500.00 to rebuild?? That $$$ was needed in other areas to get er on the road. Used 350 was a fingers crossed guess til it finally moved the car. Picked up a GM 350 chrome transpan w/drainplugfor 5.00 @ a garage sale yesterday. Wife came back to the car N said I needed to checkout all the guystuff. Would hands down prefere a 4spd N extra pedal, but the wife will have to drive the Beast to shows ect. While I'm drivin the bird. Sacrifice must be made.
Always keep em smokin,,,,then let er drift!
