No the white Beretta just made a sudden left turn into the wall. Probably dropped some of its' own fluid and caused the crash.

Actually this is Pat Lamont... one of our 7.80 racers and the other car is Kory King. This was the final round for that class. Now, Pat's car actually never dripped a drop of anything on the track til it smacked the wall which if you see the rest of John's photos, you will see what happened next. The car drifted to the center a little and the suddenly made a wild move back towards the wall with the ass end of the car and actually looping the car 180 degrees without flipping the car over. The car did smack the wall with the right side probably at about 140 + and yes according to Pat (the driver) it hurt. Now while I say there was never a drop of fluid on the track (I actually walked back and forth that whole lane for 45 minutes back and forth while they got the car and what mess was there from where it sat cleaned up), there was a wisp of smoke that came from the right rear of the car (I would show you the wicked video I have of that but told Pat I would not air it without permission from him first) and oddly enough, the car had done that in the prior round in the same lane.

At this time, we are not sure as to what caused it and we are not going to speculate on it further. We can only thank God that Pat is okay and was able to get out of the car and walk away from this horrible wreck. The car is pretty much junk but all the safety equipment did what it was supposed to do. Kept the drive alive.

Great pics once again John!!! Always love seeing your work.

    Some race to win
Some race purely for the adrenaline of speed
Some race for the love of competition
All of us should race to live!
It does no good to win if your not around to tell the stories!

I have no idea who Pat is, but he is a brother racer, and It is great to hear he is OK!

    Agreed!
If winning was easy, then the losers would be winners.
I wish I was the man my dog thinks I am.
