    Default !04+ octane boost

Hey Marcel will your 104 octane boost raise the octane of racing fuel. I,have been running some 110 vp fuel(it is 3.00 gallon cheaper per gallon than 112).With the 110 i have to run my timing slightly retarded to keep from having detonation. Thanks Randy

Afraid not. 104+ is good for getting you over the hump when premium isn't enough or regular/mid is all you can get. It'll net you ~3 numbers (give or take 1 octane depending on the hydrocarbon blend of the fuel and the engine's response during combustion).

However, the higher the starting octane, the less of a boost you get and anything over 100 octane is likely to not see any difference.

Randy... where are you located, how and where are you buying your fuel currently? I am assuming you are purchasing it at the track and buying it in small quantities from their pumps.

If the goodies come in the mail, i,m switching to e 85 this weekend. Hopefully it will not be a tuning nightmare like some i know have had with it.
Johnnny racer yes i,ve been buying it out of the pump as i don,t really have room for a barrel . And the price of 112 is ridiculous in my opinion. So i hope the switch is worth while as it should save me enough in fuel to pay for itself by the end of the year.

Best of luck with the switchover pal.
