Default Automakers balk at EPA plans for higher-ethanol fuel

    here's the full article: http://www.latimes.com/business/la-f...0,648239.story

"You're talking about a more corrosive product, and we haven't seen thorough enough studies to convince us it's not going to be a problem," said Gloria Bergquist, vice president of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, a trade group. "This would be a retroactive change for vehicles that were built up to 10 years ago, that were never designed with E15 in mind."

Bergquist said automakers would have preferred to see a specific warning on the sticker for drivers to check their individual owners' manuals because using fuel other than the types listed — which generally would not include E15 — could potentially void their warranties.

10% is bad enough. I can't find any stations around here anymore that sell 100% gas. It's killing the older cars slowly and robbing them of their longevity. The seals and fuel systems simply weren't designed to handle the ethanol. if they want to push 15% on newer cars that are designed for it, fine, but it should be an option at the pump, not the only option.
If winning was easy, then the losers would be winners.

    Default Well I love it

Most of the other Mower racers aren't "tuned" for Ethanol blends where as I have been running E30 and Now switching to E85.....so the E10 screws with their performance...the E15 should be another advantage for me, rofl!

Actually the worst part is the variation in the blends, remember it is not 10% ethanol it is "UP TO 10%" ethanol. That variation can and will effect performance and tuning!
