Exclamation You'll never guess what's groing on my gas cap cover!!!

While filling the car with gas this morning ($3.89 btw) I noticed something weird growing from the gas cap and on closer inspection...
    It's a freaking bee hive!!!!

***(Yes, I realize it's time for a car wash... but honestly, how often do you open the gas cap cover and wash the inside of it on your daily drivers?)

Judging by the gas cap being on the wrong side, this would be on the Cavalier, I assume?

It's amazing where bees try to live. Around here, I find little starts everywhere. Although, never on my rides! It must be a sign from the car Gods telling you to wash the poor little thing! You've already stated that although a little rough around the edges, it gets the job done. Show it some love!

um....every time? It only takes a few extra seconds and you never know, it might just keep bees from making a nest in there:D

I have the same problem on my '94 Caprice( beige) but nothing on my '93 Ranger (red). They are parked side by side on the driveway, which leads me to believe that the attacted by color. The lighter colors seem to be their favorite.

I'll go with this explanation instead of that "take a few extra seconds to open the hatch...." thing that GTDHW was yapping about! :D

    LOL!

My Blazer was yellow, as was the Vega before I repainted it. I will guarantee bees (of all shapes & sizes) are attracted to yellow. I could not wash either of them without fighting bees for the territory. The Blazer wasn't air tight by any means, and during the summer, there would always be something flying around in it (usually a wasp or two). Never nested though.

obviously marcel loves to clean behind his gas cap too.... when i first glanced at the photo i thought it was a shot from the inside of a dumpster or something lol
