    Default New guy from Illinois

Hello, I'm Larry. I've been a car guy since the 50's. Started with models, magazines and hanging with other car guys. I have a '75 El Camino that I bought new and a '32 Ford 5W (steel). My wife has a '32 roadster (glass). Hope to learn some things here.

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

Here's a pic of my El Camino:

Couldn't afford the SS back in '75 so ended up with a Classic. It just turned 84,000 miles. It's been repainted a couple of times and the A/C still works. It's lowered 2", runs chrome Rallys, the baby moons have since been replaced with original police interceptor caps. I striped it in six subtle shades of pale gray. The bench seat has been reupholstered but the rest of the black interior is in great shape. Still has the jack instruction sheet and every registration form since '75 is in the glove compartment.

You can see my coupe inside the shop, I'll try to post some pics soon. For now, you can see it here: http://www.pinheadlounge.com/oldbobsign/

Thanks for the compliments! Don't do much striping out of the shop anymore, just too hard to control the elements. Guess I'm getting old - hell, I am OLD!!!

Here's one of my favorite pics of the wife's roadster. This was at Speed Week 2007. After a long day on the salt we were greeted by this "puddle" approaching the "end of the road". That morning had been dry when heading out onto the salt and it did not rain all day but the water rose considerably. Everyone leaving the salt that evening had to drive through this (see the line behind), a real "no wake" zone.
